EU-China Biodiversity Programme (ECBP) seeks a highly qualified organization that will conduct the Study on Post-2010 Targets and Indicators of Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) Implementation for China.
This Study is designed to improve “China’s 2010 Biodiversity Target Indicators” (CBTI), to establish biodiversity target and indicator system in selected provinces, and to develop Post-2010 Biodiversity Target and Indicator System for China.
The subscriber shall have the following major tasks: to develop targets and new indicators for refined assessment and update the current 2010 Target assessment results with updated and reliable data and information; to consult provincial agencies to identify their specific needs of biodiversity conservation; to establish biodiversity database for the selected provinces and develop adapted targets and indicators; to review relevant CBD documentation and the global progress towards CBD Biodiversity 2010 Target, and then develop Post-2010 Biodiversity Conservation Target and Indicator System for China. The subscriber shall also serve as the coordinator and organizer of task-related meetings and workshops.
As the largest biodiversity investment of EU in China, ECBP works to conserve typical ecosystems and improve biodiversity management all over China. A Programme Management Office (PMO) supervised by Foreign Economic Cooperation Office (FECO) under Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) is established for ECBP to develop specific activities in this aspect. In the full length of this study, FECO will be the contracting party and PMO will be responsible for daily management of the bidding process and contract monitoring.
